Visa procedures between Uzbekistan and the United States are expected to be eased

The next important initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at developing tourism could further expand the country's international openness and travel opportunities. The head of state signed a decree "On measures to sharply increase the flow of tourists and expand the scope of tourist services in 2025-2026."

Visa-free entry for US citizens - negotiations begin

The decree gives the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a specific task: to conduct negotiations within three months on the possibility of creating a 30-day visa-free travel to Uzbekistan for US citizens. At the same time, it is planned to reach an agreement on simplifying the procedure for obtaining American visas for Uzbeks. This could serve to strengthen tourism, education and business ties between the two countries.

Easier travel for neighbors

According to the document, citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will now be able to travel to Uzbekistan without a visa using an ID card or a "kinder passport." This regime is valid for up to 30 days and is convenient even for children under 16 years of age.

Visa-free regime for three more countries

From June 1, 2025, citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman will also be able to travel for 30 days without a visa. This step is taken to activate Uzbekistan's ties with the Middle East in the field of tourism.

Visa-free regime with China will also come into effect

Also, from June 1, the implementation of a mutual visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and China will begin. Citizens of the two countries can travel without a visa for up to 30 days.
