Tashkent – Singapore flight: new air route discussed

An important next step was taken toward fully revealing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and expanding the geography of international flights. A practical meeting was held between “Uzbekistan Airports” company and representatives of one of the world’s leading aviation hubs — Singapore’s Changi Airport. During the negotiations, the prospects of launching direct flights between the two countries were discussed in detail.

Strong interest from Singapore

Changi Airport representatives expressed strong interest in the Tashkent route and stated their readiness to take practical steps to launch the route. According to them, Singaporean tourism companies view Uzbekistan as a new, unique, and culturally rich destination and are showing increasing interest in entering this market. In particular, historic cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva are seen by foreign tourists as attractive destinations.

Tashkent’s role as a transit hub

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the role of Tashkent International Airport as an important logistical point between Europe and Asia. According to Changi Airport experts, the expansion of Tashkent’s flight network with European cities could turn it into one of the region’s key transit hubs. This would help shape a convenient air corridor not only for travelers from Singapore, but from all of Southeast Asia.

Next steps in cooperation

At the end of the negotiations, both parties confirmed their readiness for further cooperation. They defined tasks related to logistics, marketing support, and legal procedures, and discussed the next practical steps for launching direct flights.

It is worth noting that establishing cooperation with a prestigious international aviation hub like Singapore is important not only for developing Uzbekistan’s transport infrastructure, but also for strengthening the country’s tourism brand on a global scale.
