Another case of fraud was uncovered in the Asaka district of Andijan region. During a special operation conducted jointly by the district department of the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office and the officers of the State Security Service, it was revealed that an engineer working at the Asaka district branch of “Regional Electric Networks” JSC had broken the law.

According to information, the engineer T.A. (previously convicted) promised to delete a total electricity debt of 18 million soums accumulated at the residences of citizen Sh.A. and his mother K.A. from the electronic database and to install new electricity meters. In return, he received 11 million soums in bribe from Sh.A. and was caught with material evidence.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 of the Criminal Code — “Fraud,” and investigative actions have been launched.

Officials emphasized that such actions not only abuse the trust of the population but also negatively affect the state systems. The fight against such violations in the energy sector will be firmly continued to ensure transparency.
