Starting from July 11, the opportunity to take the international language certificate — IELTS exam in paper format has been canceled in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the IDP test center. From now on, this exam can only be taken on a computer. This decision was introduced to ensure security during the exam and to increase transparency in the education sector.
One of the main reasons for this decision is the recent increase in the leakage of IELTS exam questions and the illegal acquisition of certificates. Such cases raise doubts about the reliability of exam results and contradict international accreditation standards.
According to official IELTS test providers such as IDP and the British Council, computer-based exams offer higher levels of security and monitoring, and results are announced more quickly. This allows candidates to have a more efficient and transparent exam experience.
What can those who already registered do?
Candidates who previously registered for the paper-based exam are offered two options:
- Voluntarily switch to the computer-based format.
- Receive a full refund.
This approach gives candidates the opportunity to freely exercise their rights and reorganize their exam preparation process. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
