According to the Central Bank's "Labor Market Review," in recent quarters, the growth of real wages in Uzbekistan is forming at a lower level compared to Central Asian and Caucasus countries, Uz24 reported.
Main information:
– In January–March 2025, real wages in Central Asian countries increased by an average of 9.8%, and together with the Caucasus countries, by 9.1%.
– The review emphasizes that if this gap persists for a long time, the purchasing power of labor market participants in Uzbekistan will decrease, and demand will weaken.
– In the second quarter of 2025, the minimum wage in Uzbekistan was equal to 91 US dollars. For comparison: in Belarus — 243, Azerbaijan — 235, Mongolia — 222 dollars.
Also, in Uzbekistan, the ratio of the annual minimum wage to GDP per capita was 35%. This indicates the level of equality in income distribution.
In some countries in the region — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia — this indicator is lower, while in other countries it is formed at a similar level.
