On August 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Takeshi Iwaya, who was on an official visit to our country.
At the meeting, issues of further strengthening the Uzbekistan–Japan strategic partnership relations and expanding multifaceted cooperation were discussed.
It was noted with particular satisfaction that active contacts are continuing and practical cooperation is dynamically developing. The fruitful results of today’s first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue of the foreign ministers of the two countries were highly appreciated.
Special attention was paid to deepening political dialogue, advancing specific projects of trade-economic, investment, financial-technical, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
Plans were supported to expand the activities of the Uzbekistan–Japan Center and in the future to create on its basis a joint university with the participation of leading Japanese universities.
Issues of international and regional significance were also discussed, including holding the upcoming summit in the “Central Asia + Japan” format.
