According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-July 2025, Uzbekistan imported 6.5 thousand tons of rice from 13 foreign countries for a total amount of 2.9 million US dollars. This figure once again demonstrated the country's importance in ensuring food security and providing the population with essential products.
The countries that supplied the most rice to Uzbekistan in the first seven months of this year are:
Kazakhstan - 4.3 thousand tons
India - 1.1 thousand tons
Kyrgyzstan - 582 tons
Pakistan - 186 tons
China - 66 tons
Other countries - 289 tons,
It is reported that 1.1 thousand tons of rice received from India is considered high-quality and strategically important for the country. This trend in the import of rice from Uzbekistan contributes to the stable provision of food to the population and the maintenance of stable prices.
