Tashkent ranks fourth in the world in air pollution

Air quality in Tashkent has deteriorated sharply and continues to hold high positions in the ranking of the world's most polluted cities. According to Uzhydromet, on the morning of September 6, PM2.5 particles were detected in the capital's atmosphere almost 1.3 times higher than normal. It turned out that this indicator was 44.6 μg/m3, which is significantly higher than the established standard norm. At the same time, the amount of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere also amounted to 0.58 mg/m3, which indicates a serious level of air pollution.

In the ranking published by the international IQAir system at 10:00, Tashkent ranked fourth among the most polluted cities in the world. The capital is assigned an index of 115, which can have a negative impact on vulnerable groups. Experts emphasize that the high levels of pollution in Tashkent, which are usually observed during the heating season, are now recorded even on hot summer days.

Therefore, residents of the capital are advised to pay constant attention to air quality, use external weather conditions, and personal protective measures. Experts also emphasize the importance of controlling harmful emissions from transport, industry, and heating systems, as this is an important step in preventing excessive pollution.
