Chinese will now be officially taught in universities, technical schools, and schools in Uzbekistan. This was announced on September 9 at a video-selector meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to the implementation of reforms in the field of preschool and school education and future priorities. As the head of state noted, this step will serve to train the younger generation in modern professions, provide them with a stable source of income, and reduce poverty and unemployment.
"The main issue that worries me is the vocational training of our youth and the creation of opportunities for them to earn a stable income. If we put this process on the right track, there will be no poverty and unemployment in the mahalla," the President said at the meeting.
Within the framework of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, the head of state also announced that during his visits to China, a package of promising projects worth 35 billion dollars was formed with the heads of major companies in the fields of energy, geology, chemistry, transport, agriculture, and water resources. It was emphasized that these projects require thousands of qualified personnel with good knowledge of technologies and the Chinese language.
For this purpose, it is planned to organize two Uzbek-Chinese workshops in each region. Through these centers, young people will be trained in professions based on Chinese experience and modern technologies.
Currently, more than 100 native speakers and volunteers are involved in teaching Chinese in universities, technical schools, and schools. This step will contribute not only to the development of the education system, but also to the training of personnel necessary for the successful implementation of large investment projects in the country in the future.
