Uzbekistan's education sector is gaining increasing international attention. According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-July 2025, a total of 10.7 thousand foreign students visited our country for educational purposes.
This indicator increased by 2 thousand compared to the corresponding period of 2024, that is, an increase of 22.4 percent was recorded. This indicates that the interest of foreign students in Uzbek educational institutions is growing day by day.
Over the seven months of this year, foreign citizens who came to our country for education were distributed by country as follows:
Turkmenistan - 3,197 people, that is, the largest number of students came from this country.
India - 2,846 people, which indicates high interest.
Tajikistan - 1,246 people, reflecting the potential of students from neighboring countries.
China - 532 people, distinguished by their interest in higher education.
South Korea - 428 people, for education in the field of technology and science.
Pakistan - 377 people, using educational opportunities.
Kyrgyz Republic - 286 people, visits from close neighbors.
USA - 254 people, for international relations and academic experience.
Afghanistan - 193 people, the result of the pursuit of knowledge.
Turkey - 181 people, demonstrates cultural and educational cooperation.
Other countries - 1,161, which indicates the interest of students from many countries.
