According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, a big opportunity has been created for women studying in higher educational institutions of our country and in need of social support. Now their contract payments will be fully covered by the state. This decision, without doubt, will create additional relief for thousands of students and their families.
Who can benefit from the privilege?
According to established rules, the following categories of women have the right to use this help:

children of families recognized as low-income or poor;
-
young people who are orphans or deprived of parental care;
-
women who lost their spouse and are raising children alone.
What is the procedure for application?
Women must submit an application to the admission commission of the higher educational institution where they are studying in order to use the privilege. Importantly, no documents are attached to the application — all necessary information is obtained automatically through state electronic databases.
Admission commissions collect applications and within 5 working days send them to the relevant ministry. The ministry then presents the documents to the territorial hokimiyats.
How is the selection carried out?
From each region, 150 women are selected: among them 40 are first-year students and 110 are students of the 2nd and higher courses.
The selection is carried out by territorial commissions. They, within 5 days, go to the place of residence of candidates and study their social situation. The main criteria are:

material and living condition of the candidate;

the score obtained when entering the university;
-
the need for specialists in the region by the field of study;
-
the course in which the student is studying.
The list of selected students is sent to the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs. There, within 10 days, a recommendation is formalized and returned to the hokimiyat.
When is the contract paid?
The contract fee of students who are considered eligible for the privilege is paid by local hokimiyats in 4 parts by the end of each quarter.
However, there is an important point: this privilege does not apply to women studying for a second specialty, as well as in foreign or private universities in Uzbekistan. Also, if students change their field of study or are expelled from the university, the privilege for contract payment is automatically canceled.
