As part of the visit to the UN headquarters in New York, the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Asadov, held a productive meeting with the Director of the UN News Service, Jan Phillips.

At the meeting, topical issues in the global information space were discussed, in particular, the need for accurate, objective, and prompt coverage of events. According to Asadov, one of the most important tasks today is to verify the truth of facts, effectively combat disinformation, and increase the media literacy of the general public in the context of a huge flow of information.

During the conversation, gratitude was expressed for the constant support provided by the UN News Service in covering Uzbekistan's initiatives, including important international events. Asadov noted that this not only strengthens trust in the information space, but also contributes to the proper acceptance of the country's initiatives in the world community.

Yang Phillips, in turn, highly appreciated the relations with Uzbekistan in the media sphere and expressed his readiness to further strengthen cooperation in the future. The parties agreed to deepen cooperation in establishing information exchange, using new media technologies, and preventing disinformation.

Thus, the meeting was noted as an important step aimed at further strengthening bilateral information cooperation and disseminating truthful information in the global media space.
