On September 20, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in New York, USA, to participate in the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly. This was reported by the press service of the President.
Upon arrival in New York, the head of our state was warmly welcomed at the J.F. Kennedy International Airport by the Special Representative of the US Presidential Administration for Global Partnerships, Paolo Zampolli, the Chairperson of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, Carolyn Lamm, and other officials.
As part of the visit, President Mirziyoyev is expected to deliver a speech at the general debates of the UN General Assembly. It is also planned that he will hold meetings with the leaders of a number of foreign countries, heads of international organizations, and managers of large financial institutions.
In addition, the head of our state will take part in a round table with the participation of representatives of leading US companies. At the same time, meetings will be organized with the heads of major transnational corporations, and prospects for bilateral cooperation will be discussed.
According to experts, this visit of the President will further strengthen the authority of Uzbekistan in the international arena and ensure the country's active participation in global affairs.
