According to real-time AQI (Air Quality Index) data, the 10 most polluted places in the city of Tashkent have been identified, iqair.com reports. The places on the list have indicators at dangerous levels for public health.
In first place is the area around the Metallurgy Plant, where the AQI has reached 193 points. This indicator falls into the "very poor" category. The next places are Beruniy (189 points), Murad Buildings, Medgorodok, DIDOX UZ, Olmazor, Chilonzor, Uchtepa, and Tashkent International School.
According to medical recommendations, when the AQI exceeds 150, children, the elderly, and people with respiratory diseases should go outside as little as possible. Air pollution is mainly caused by industrial enterprises, motor vehicles, and fuel burning.
