At the meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, issues of creating a more attractive environment for investing in the field of artificial intelligence were also discussed, reports president.uz.
As the head of state noted, one of the most important steps in this direction is the expansion of modern supercomputer clusters and large data centers.
In these infrastructures, a large part of the costs - about 70 percent - comes from electricity. In this regard, the need to reduce electricity tariffs to an attractive level for investors was noted.
The President announced that work in this direction will begin in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Now investors who have invested more than $100 million in artificial intelligence infrastructure will receive a number of benefits:
- the price of electricity is set at 5 cents per kilowatt-hour;
- All tax and customs benefits provided to IT Park participants apply;
- equipment imported for artificial intelligence projects is exempt from customs duties.
"This initiative will not only give impetus to a big leap in the field of artificial intelligence, but will also bring new life to the economy of Karakalpakstan," the head of state said.
The meeting also addressed the issue of providing remote areas of the country with high-speed internet. According to the president, satellite internet operators will be launched next year.
These companies will be exempt from land, property, profit, and value-added taxes for five years. It was noted that this, in turn, will contribute to the expansion of digital infrastructure throughout the country.
At the end of the meeting, the President noted that the introduction of artificial intelligence is a strategic task that will raise not only technology, but also the economy and regional development to a new level.
