The number of marriages in Uzbekistan is decreasing every year

According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-September 2025, a total of 177,000 marriages were registered in the registry offices of Uzbekistan.

Of these, 91.2 thousand are in urban areas, and 85.8 thousand are in rural areas.

Number of marriages by year (January-September):

  • 2021 - 206.8 thousand,
  • 2022 - 197 thousand,
  • 2023 - 184.5 thousand,
  • 2024 - 179.4 thousand,
  • 2025 - 177 thousand.

As can be seen, the number of marriages has been gradually decreasing over the past five years. Experts attribute this situation to economic factors, changes in lifestyle, and the tendency of young people to marry later.
