A center for women and children opened in Fergana
According to the press service of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, on October 31, the official opening ceremony of the "Center for Support of Women and Children" was held in Fergana region. This center was established by the non-governmental organization "Mehrjon".

The project was carried out within the framework of the special program "Strengthening the Rule of Law and Protecting Human Rights," implemented with the support of the UN Development Program and the Ministry of Justice. The new center not only provides temporary shelter for victims of violence, but also offers them psychological, social, and legal assistance.

In addition, the institution holds special events aimed at resolving family conflicts, socially adapting those suffering from violence, and increasing the social activity of women and children. It is noteworthy that this year, the Ombudsman launched the "Equality and Respect" platform, through which the necessary measures are being implemented to ensure gender equality and provide comprehensive support to women who are victims of violence.
