Uzbekistan and US trade volume is approaching 1 billion

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held productive negotiations in Washington with the US Secretary of Commerce, Howard Latnik. During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening the strategic economic partnership, increasing mutual trade and investment, as well as implementing large-scale joint projects.

It was especially noted that over the past years, the trade volume between the two countries has grown rapidly, increasing fourfold and approaching 1 billion US dollars. Today, more than 300 American companies are successfully operating in Uzbekistan.

Their activities cover key sectors of the economy such as heavy industry, agriculture, energy, and innovative technologies. Special attention during the negotiations was paid to expanding cooperation in the agro-industrial sector.

As a result of cooperation, initial contracts have been signed to supply soybeans and cotton from the US to Uzbekistan. In addition, active work is being conducted to introduce advanced American drip irrigation technologies for effective use of water resources.

At the end of the negotiations, the parties agreed to create an investment platform to support joint projects.
