On December 3, Shavkat Mirziyoyev provided information on measures to increase production in the chemical industry, develop exports, and reduce costs. The President noted that by 2030, it is planned to double the chemical industry, increase the production of mineral fertilizers by 1.5 times, and increase exports to $1 billion.
Currently, 21 large projects are being implemented in the industry, with a total value of $1 billion. In addition, new initiatives worth 4.5 billion dollars are planned to be implemented in the next three years.
The necessity of introducing energy-saving technologies and digitalization to save valuable resources and increase competitiveness was indicated. Measures to optimize energy costs, which constitute 55% of the cost of nitrogen fertilizers, are important.
It was noted that for the further development of the chemical industry, it is possible to deeply process local raw materials, produce new types of products, and at least double exports. Through existing projects, the production of new "green" mineral fertilizers, potassium xanthate, and potassium sulfate with high added value has begun in Tashkent, Navoi, and Jizzakh regions.
In 2025, it is planned to grow 4.5 million tons of cotton. To achieve this, the preparation of phosphorus fertilizer reserves, the supply of a sufficient amount of sulfuric acid to farmers, and the allocation of preferential loans will be accelerated.
The President also recognized the chemical industry as a strategic sector of the country's economy and gave specific instructions to ensure stable supply to the domestic market, increase export potential, and create new jobs.
