
On December 23, 2025, a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Olim Abdullayev, held an official meeting with Deputy Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Battal. The dialogue is being recognized as an important step towards further deepening bilateral relations.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that, thanks to the firm and consistent political will of the two countries' leaders, cooperation relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia are steadily developing and entering a new phase. The increase in the number of mutual high-level visits was noted as a testament to this growing partnership.
The Saudi side underlined its high regard and warm attitude towards the Uzbek people, noting that the number of issues related to Uzbek citizens visiting the kingdom remains very low. This indicates an increasing level of trust and mutual understanding between the two nations.
The discussions paid special attention to organizing visits of Uzbek citizens to Saudi Arabia during Hajj and Umrah seasons, as well as simplifying and making the visa issuance process more convenient and transparent within the framework of existing legislation. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in this area.
Additionally, the meeting reached agreements on further enhancing the work of the joint commission operating between the two countries' Ministries of Interior, as well as implementing joint practical measures aimed at protecting the rights and interests of their citizens.
This dialogue is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia and open up new opportunities for practical cooperation.
