Orphans received social cards and deposit accounts under the President’s Tree initiative

Under the “President’s Tree” initiative, the state opened personal deposit accounts worth $500 for more than 8,000 children aged 0–17 who are orphans or left without parental care. The funds will accumulate in the account, and the child will be able to use them after turning 18 when taking their first steps into adult life. This was reported by podrobno.uz.reports.

In addition, starting from the age of 9, social cards were issued to children who have a special need for state care and to their legal representatives. These cards allow discounted use of public transport, payment for purchases and services, identity verification, and access to social assistance and services. All transactions are monitored and controlled via the Baraka mobile app.

Recipients of the social card include orphans and children without parental care living in local communities (mahallas), residents of orphanages as well as family-type and small children’s homes, SOS Children’s Villages residents, children of those who died while defending the country’s borders, and children receiving treatment at the pediatric oncology hospital affiliated with the “Taskin” hospice.

A separate procedure has been set for children under the care of the “Taskin” children’s hospice: if necessary, based on a request from legal representatives, funds from the deposit account can be transferred to a bank card at any time. As a reminder, the first children’s hospice called “Taskin” was established in the summer of 2022 on the basis of the specialized “Zangiata-2” hospital.
