Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews construction works in New Tashkent

On December 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the New Tashkent area and reviewed the construction progress of major infrastructure facilities and new administrative buildings. This was reported by podrobno.uzreports.

At the start of the visit, he inspected the construction of an underground parking facility and a pedestrian passage covering 40,000 square meters. Under the $100 million project, the first phase предусматривает spaces for 200 cars, as well as areas for motorcycles and scooters. The complex is planned to be commissioned in 2026: it will be fully automated, with EV charging stations and bicycle rental points to be set up.

Noting the growing number of electric vehicles in the capital, the head of state emphasized the need to expand the charging-station network and make such parking facilities as convenient and affordable for residents as possible.

Buildings for government agencies are also rising in New Tashkent. One of them is a new modular office built for the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services. It was noted that the modern complex made of lightweight structures has brought together the central office and system organizations in one place, simplifying workflows. Currently, 550 specialists work here.

The building also houses the Republican Center for ICT Development. The center’s specialists presented the capabilities of the “Transparent Construction” digital ecosystem to the President. In particular, it was noted that “digital twins” of cities have been created using geoinformation systems, and 3D models make it possible to conduct in-depth territorial analysis, plan renovation, and assess the appearance of future districts before work begins.

It was also reported that the processes of discussing master plans and issuing construction permits have been fully moved online, and that the geoportal contains digital maps for 20 cities and more than 800 settlements. In public procurement, the “Rating” and “Tender” platforms automatically assess contractor reliability, reducing the human factor; digital quality control in construction, monitoring of housing operation, and transparent billing systems for heat-supply calculations have also been introduced.

At the end of the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with young engineers and IT specialists. The President stressed that major results cannot be achieved in the construction sector with yesterday’s knowledge, and that continuous learning and deep mastery of exact sciences—especially information technologies—are essential.

Following the trip, officials were instructed to consistently continue digitalizing the construction sector and to make processes even more open and understandable for citizens.
