Chinese company plans to build a paper factory in Samarkand

The Chinese company "Huanrong Paper" plans to build a modern paper and cardboard production plant in the Samarkand region, the press service of the regional administration reported.
Representatives of the company discussed this investment project at a meeting with the khokim of the Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev.
The total cost of the project is $500 million, and it is planned to be implemented in five stages. This will require more than 50 hectares of land. Currently, the land plots located in the "Khishrav-2" massif of the Urgut free economic zone are considered as a potential territory and are planned to be put up for auction in the near future.
It is said that the plant will be the only one in Central Asia, and about 3 thousand new jobs will be created within the framework of the project. Tax revenues of 50-60 million dollars per year are expected to flow into the state budget.
