Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves hit record

Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves have reached the highest level in their history. According to the Central Bank, the country's reserves stand at 77 billion dollars. This is 2 billion dollars more than last month. Previously, in February, this figure was recorded at 75 billion dollars. Reports podrobno.uz.

The main factor behind the record result was the rise in precious metal prices on the global market. Currently, the physical volume of gold in the country is 13.1 million troy ounces, valued at 67.6 billion dollars. The foreign currency portion of the reserves is 8.8 billion dollars.

According to economist Ravshanbek Dalimov, gold is becoming an important tool in geopolitical processes today. A sharp rise in gold prices is being observed under the influence of speculative capital. The expert emphasizes the need for systematic reforms for Uzbekistan to transform its gold wealth into international jewelry brands.
