On March 19, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the rebuilt Imam Bukhari complex in the Samarkand region.
As a result of the large-scale construction and reconstruction work that began in 2018, the complex acquired a completely new look. The official opening ceremony was held in March 2026, on the eve of Ramadan Hayit, which further enhanced the spiritual significance of this place.
The renovated complex has been formed not only as a pilgrimage site, but also as a scientific and educational center. It includes a modern pilgrimage site and mausoleum, research centers, a library with a rich manuscript collection, and an infrastructure with all amenities for visitors.
According to experts, this complex will become an attractive place not only for domestic pilgrims, but also for foreign guests. This will serve to further enhance the prestige of Samarkand as an international tourist center.
In short, the Imam Bukhari complex has now risen to a new level not only as a historical monument but also as a modern center that combines knowledge, enlightenment, and pilgrimage.
