A new era is beginning in Uzbekistan’s digital economy. A new regulatory document signed by the President has opened the door to major conveniences not only for entrepreneurs but also for ordinary consumers. Two-year innovation experiment
In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PQ–136 dated April 13, 2026, a deep reform of the e-commerce sector will begin in the country. Starting from July 1, 2026, a special legal experiment will be conducted for exactly two years. Within this process, a new type of free warehouse — bond warehouses — will be launched for the first time in the country.
Bond warehouses: what does it mean?
Such warehouses are intended for temporary storage of goods designed for the personal needs of individuals, which are sold by residents and non-residents, and for subsequent retail sale. In simple terms:
- Goods are sold through special electronic platforms.
- These platforms must be included in the official registry maintained by the National Agency for Perspective Projects.
- Warehouses operate under the licensing procedure for free warehouse activities.
Customs and control simplifications
The most attractive aspect of the new system is that excessive bureaucracy will be removed when selling goods from bond warehouses to individuals.
- Declaration-based clearance: goods are quickly cleared through customs based on shipment declarations.
- Reduced requirements: when purchasing products from these warehouses, certain strict requirements such as conformity assessment, sanitary and veterinary control will not be applied.
What does this give us?
The introduction of this system is expected to take the e-commerce infrastructure to a new level. The turnover of goods will significantly accelerate, which in turn will make online shopping cheaper and faster. From now on, ordering your favorite products online will become even safer and more convenient.
