Mirziyoyev and Babis negotiations: Trade volume to reach a billion dollars
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš held talks at the Kuksaroy residence, marking a new chapter in the strategic relations between the two countries. The discussions focused on enhancing trade and economic cooperation, with a goal of reaching a trade volume of $1 billion, nearly doubling the current exchange in recent years. They also agreed on joint initiatives in high-tech sectors, infrastructure development, and cultural exchanges, including the establishment of a certification branch in the Czech Republic for Uzbek products. A joint "roadmap" will be prepared to encompass all agreements made during the negotiations, with plans for a future intergovernmental commission meeting in Tashkent.

The acceleration of trade and economic ties was at the center of the negotiations. It was noted that the volume of trade turnover between the countries has nearly doubled in recent years.

Diversification: Reaching a trade turnover of $1 billion through the expansion of product varieties was set as a priority task.

Financial Support: The Czech Export Bank and the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation expressed readiness to provide financial support for major projects in Uzbekistan.

The parties agreed to implement large-scale projects in high-tech sectors of the economy. In this regard, a special Technological Cooperation Program will be developed.

Future Steps
A Business Council will be established to systematically manage economic relations. Furthermore, the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission is scheduled to be held in Tashkent this August. At the conclusion of the negotiations, a joint "road map" encompassing all agreements will be prepared.
