
A serious incident threatening public health has been uncovered in Angren city. During an operation carried out by the Angren City Department of the Economic Crimes Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, a violation was identified at a pharmacy owned by the private enterprise “A.T.”.
According to the investigation, an unofficial employee named D.A. was caught selling medicines to a customer, F.N., without any documents certifying their quality. Upon inspecting the pharmacy, a total of 21,106 units of medicine worth 59.8 million soums were discovered, including:
- 3,380 units past their expiration date;
- 325 biologically active supplements displayed for sale;
- none of the medicines had incoming inventory documents.
All the medicines were seized as physical evidence and handed over to the relevant authorities.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code — "Manufacture, preparation, acquisition, storage, transport, or distribution of substandard or counterfeit medicinal products or medical devices." Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway.
Healthcare specialists emphasize that such incidents pose a serious threat to public safety and urge citizens to use only licensed and trusted pharmacies.
