Today, August 28, the U.S. Special Representative for Global Partnership, Paolo Zampolli, visited the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. His visit, timed for the Independence Day celebrations, is considered an important step aimed at further strengthening cooperation and friendly relations between the countries.
Zampolli held a productive meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov. During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on a number of cooperation opportunities in education, culture, innovation, and business, as well as issues of regional and global significance. Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel:
“We had an effective meeting with Mr. Zampolli. We exchanged opinions on building stronger bridges between our countries — from education and culture to innovation and business. There is a large, yet fully untapped potential for bringing our peoples closer. During our discussions, we also touched upon a number of regional and global issues — expressing our shared vision for working together toward a more prosperous future.”
For reference, Special Representative Zampolli promotes the programmatic ideas of U.S. President Trump on strengthening America’s global cooperation with other countries. His main task is to promote American achievements, demonstrate the leadership capabilities of the United States globally, and reinforce diplomatic relations.
Zampolli looks forward to establishing close contacts with Uzbekistan’s cultural and scientific institutions, and meetings with Olympic champions and athletes are also planned. In addition, he will participate alongside U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick in the ceremonial opening of the new “American Corner Tashkent” center, dedicated to promoting American values and educational opportunities in the capital.
Zampolli is expected to participate in the Independence Day celebrations of Uzbekistan. U.S. Ambassador Henick commented on the visit:
“We are pleased that this year, the highest-level representative from the United States will participate in Uzbekistan’s Independence Day celebrations in Tashkent. The visit of Special Representative Zampolli once again confirms the unchanging truth: the United States is a reliable partner for Uzbekistan, committed to mutual respect, prosperity, and a successful future.”
Thus, the historic visit of Zampolli and the celebration of Uzbekistan’s Independence Day are expected to jointly elevate diplomatic, cultural, and economic cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
