Ella Pamfilova called the internet dangerous for Russia

Commenting on the results of the recent regional elections, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, made a sharp statement about the internet. In his opinion, the internet is a global network that is completely unfriendly to Russia.

Pamfilova said this while talking about the "GAS Vibori 2.0" information system. He emphasized that the reason for the electoral system's resistance to cyberattacks is its complete autonomy from the internet. "This is a global spider web that is not friendly to us," the CEC chairman said.

The results of the three-day elections in Russia have been announced. Within its framework, about 47 thousand deputies of various levels were elected. Also, a new composition of legislatures has been established in 21 governors and 11 regions.

According to the CEC, according to the voting results, the current leaders won in 19 regions and the annexed Sevastopol. All the winning candidates were from the "United Russia" party, only Chuvash leader Oleg Nikolayev participated as an independent candidate and won with 67.06 percent of the votes.

As Pamfilova noted, the total voter turnout was approximately 47%. According to him, more than 26 million citizens participated in the election campaign. At the same time, the commission noted that no serious conflicts were recorded during the election process that could affect the voting results.

Thus, the CEC once again emphasized that the electoral system in Russia operates remotely from the Internet, which ensures cybersecurity.
