34 Palestinian students, who received places at UK universities, were evacuated from Gaza and have arrived in the country to begin their studies. This is the first time since the war started that students have been helped to leave Gaza to study.
The students were first taken to Jordan for visa checks. They are now registering at universities in London, Edinburgh, and Manchester, with some starting classes just hours after arrival. All students received fully funded scholarships and support from the government.
The students gained the opportunity to study despite war and difficulties. Their arrival follows the evacuation of seriously ill children from Gaza to the UK and gives them a chance to start a new life.
