A very serious and terrible road accident occurred in Kazakhstan. On October 23, a road traffic accident involving a truck and a Gazel passenger car was recorded in the Aktobe region. The regional Department of Internal Affairs reported that 12 people died as a result of the incident. This was reported by the publication "Nur.kz."
According to reports, the accident occurred near the village of Belkopa on the Samara-Shymkent highway. According to preliminary inspection results, the DAF truck disrupted the direction of movement and went in the opposite direction. At that moment, a passenger traveling in the opposite direction collided with a Gazelle.
Two drivers and 10 passengers of the Gazelle died at the scene. Another 5 people were taken to a medical facility with serious injuries. According to the statement of the regional Department of Internal Affairs, a pre-investigation check has been launched on the incident.
It turned out that the Gazel car involved in the accident was engaged in passenger transportation from the village of Jurgenov to the regional center. Police and investigative teams are currently working at the scene, and all circumstances and causes are being investigated.
Experts note that the number of major road accidents in Kazakhstan has not decreased in recent years - especially violations of traffic rules on major highways remain a source of great danger. This indicates the need to call on drivers to act more responsibly.
As a reminder, a major road accident also occurred on the Kampala-Gulu highway in Uganda, resulting in 63 fatalities and several serious injuries.
This tragedy in the Aktobe region once again reminded us of the importance of caution, discipline, and responsibility on the road. Upon completion of the investigation, an official conclusion on the causes of the incident is expected.
