Tajikistan has taken a historic step - the country officially launched the world's first specialized area for artificial intelligence, Area AI, local sources reported. This initiative will serve to expand scientific and economic opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence not only in the region, but also throughout the world.
According to the data, Area AI is not only a scientific center, but also a large platform for modern technologies. It operates as a scientific and innovative technopark that unites the creation of artificial intelligence models, data centers, research laboratories, and startup ecosystems.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the "Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence," adopted in 2022. According to the government's plan, artificial intelligence is expected to contribute at least 5% to the economy by 2040. This will become an important factor in significantly increasing the country's gross domestic product and creating new jobs.
The Area AI special zone aims to create a collaborative environment for local and international experts in the field of artificial intelligence. Here, researchers, engineers, and programmers will have the opportunity to jointly develop new generation digital solutions, especially models in local languages.
At the same time, Tajikistan has signed memorandums of cooperation with major technology companies from the UAE, the USA, Singapore, and India. This step will create an opportunity for international investment in the country and the exchange of knowledge and experience.
According to experts, this project could turn Tajikistan into a leading center for artificial intelligence in Central Asia. However, they emphasized that increasing human resource capacity, improving the investment climate, and developing infrastructure remain priority tasks for sustainable development in this area.
Analysts believe that if the project develops according to plan, Area AI could become one of the most advanced technology parks in Central Asia in the coming years. It is quite possible that this will redefine Tajikistan's technological potential throughout the entire region.
