A powerful explosion occurred at a large enterprise producing perfumes and cosmetics in the Manisa region of western Turkey. According to preliminary data, at least six people died as a result of the incident.
According to Sabah, a powerful fire broke out on the enterprise's premises after the explosion. As a result of this tragedy, which occurred during working hours, a number of workshops in the building were completely destroyed. According to the authorities and the rescue service, the bodies of the workers who died during the firefighting process were found.
Emergency services and police officers are still working at the scene. Search and rescue operations are continuing with increased intensity, and the large area is completely closed for security reasons.
It is reported that the explosion also damaged the surrounding houses and production facilities. The extent of the damage and the exact cause of the explosion have not yet been determined.
According to preliminary information, the tragedy may have occurred due to a chemical reaction in the production process or a technical malfunction in the plant's equipment.
The incident caused great concern among the Turkish public. The Manisa administration expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and announced that the plant's operations were temporarily suspended until the end of the investigation.
