Social networks are prohibited for children under 15 in Denmark

The Danish government has announced a draft law restricting the use of social networks by children under 15 to protect young people from internet threats. The initiative aims to protect children from harmful content and the influence of online advertising.

According to the law, platforms are responsible for determining the user's age. If the requirements are not met, companies will be fined 6% of their global annual income.

According to data, 94% of children under 13 are active on social media in Denmark. Experts assess this situation as dangerous and emphasize the need to protect children's mental health.

The government called the decision "an important step towards creating a healthy online environment."
