Why are Kyrgyz schools switching to energy-saving mode?

Educational institutions across Kyrgyzstan are switching to energy-saving mode, the country's Ministry of Education reported.

According to the ministry, electricity must be turned off no later than 60 minutes after the completion of all classes. This measure aims to facilitate classroom cleaning and reduce energy consumption.

At the same time, this restriction does not apply to utilities and equipment that ensure the operation and safety of the building. This requirement also does not apply to institutions providing student dormitories.

As previously reported, in order to save energy, the use of indoor and outdoor lighting, as well as electrical equipment, is restricted in the administrative buildings of Kyrgyzstan from 18:00 to 06:00.

Experts assess this decision as a measure to ensure the stable distribution of energy resources in the country and reduce the load on the system during the winter season.
