British military were banned from discussing secret topics in the car

The UK Ministry of Defence introduced new safety regulations for military personnel. Soldiers and officers are now strictly prohibited from discussing official or classified matters in their vehicles, the Daily Mail reports.

This measure was introduced due to the possibility of Chinese espionage activities and data theft through eavesdropping devices. Experts believe that some modern cars, particularly those manufactured in China, risk recording or transmitting conversations through microphones, cameras, and internet-connected sensors.

According to the publication, special warning stickers are now installed on British army service vehicles. They have the following inscription:

"Avoid discussing OFFICIAL information in the car."

This inscription calls on the troops to protect military secrets and is aimed at strengthening the culture of information security among the military.

In recent years, the British government has repeatedly strengthened information security measures against Chinese companies. For example, the use of Huawei equipment in 5G networks was previously restricted.
