A fire that occurred this morning in the village of Algabas, located in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, claimed the lives of 12 people. It was reported that 9 children were among the victims.
It is said that the fire spread very quickly in the two-story building. Rescuers found three people unconscious and transported them to the hospital. They are in serious condition now.
Neighbors say that there was an event at home yesterday, and because of the guests, there were more people than usual. The investigation is also investigating this situation.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed deep distress about the tragedy and instructed the government and regional leadership to provide assistance to the families of the deceased and injured.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. The tragedy shook the people of Algabas.
