Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on December 11-12. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.
Putin's visit is connected with participation in a major forum, which will be held within the framework of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's international neutrality status, as well as the International Year of Peace and Trust. A number of heads of state and representatives of international organizations were also invited to the event.
The forum, which will be held in Ashgabat, will discuss issues of strengthening regional security, diplomatic cooperation, energy, transport, and economic ties. During Putin's visit, the parties are expected to discuss the strategic partnership, trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan, as well as agreements on hydroelectric power plant projects and transport corridors.
