Two friends living in India's Madhya Pradesh state - Satish Hatik and Sajid Muhammad - encountered unexpected luck. They found a diamond weighing 15.34 carats on the leased land plot. This was reported by the BBC.
The find was examined by the city's official diamond appraiser and confirmed to be a high-quality precious stone. According to appraiser Anupam Singh, the estimated market value of the diamond is 5-6 million rupees, which is around 55-66 thousand US dollars. The precious stone is planned to be put up for auction in the coming days.
Interestingly, young people do not want to associate this great discovery with luxury or business. According to them, the main goal now is to marry off their sisters and help the family.
According to reports, 24-year-old Satish Hatik works at a meat store, while 23-year-old Sajid Muhammad is engaged in fruit trade. Both came from poor families, childhood friends, and are the youngest children in the family.
The search for precious stones has been ongoing since ancient times among the inhabitants of the Panna district where diamonds were found. However, this region is one of India's least developed regions, with problems of poverty, water scarcity, and unemployment.
