The US government has announced a new incentive measure to encourage illegal migrants to leave the country voluntarily. According to it, persons registered for voluntary deportation through the CBP Home mobile application will be provided with a sum of $3,000 and a free plane ticket to their homeland.
According to US Secretary of Homeland Security Christie Noem, the use of this program will also allow for the abolition of civil fines and penalties imposed for failure to leave the country within the established timeframe. However, the offer is valid only until the end of the year.
According to the minister, 1.9 million illegal migrants have left the US voluntarily since January 2025. Tens of thousands of people left through the CBP Home program. In connection with the Christmas season, the government has tripled the financial incentives for voluntary exodus.
Christie Noem urged illegal migrants to take advantage of this opportunity, noting that strict measures would be taken in the opposite case. According to him, individuals who do not voluntarily leave will be identified, arrested, and may be permanently deprived of the right to return to the United States in the future.
