Venezuela and the US: Tensions Rise After Explosions
Early this morning, several explosions occurred in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and other regions. The government described these events as US “military aggression.” President Nicolas Maduro declared a national emergency and mobilized defense forces.

Explosions also took place in the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. According to witnesses and images circulating on social media, explosions, aircraft, and black smoke were seen. A power outage was reported in the southern part of the city, near a large military base.

The Venezuelan government stated that the US aimed to seize the country’s oil and mineral resources through the attack, but this effort will fail.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly mentioned the possibility of military actions in Venezuela. The Pentagon referred journalists’ questions to the White House, which has not commented so far.
