Trump says Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro was detained in a US operation and taken out of the country

US President Donald Trump said that as part of a large-scale operation against Venezuela, the country’s President Nicolás Maduro was detained together with his wife and taken outside Venezuelan territory. This was reported by podrobno.uz.reports.
According to Trump, the operation was carried out jointly by the US military and law enforcement agencies, and details will be released later. He also said a press conference will be held at 13:00 (Tashkent time) at Mar-a-Lago, where an official statement is expected.
Trump stressed that the operation ended successfully and thanked those who paid attention to the situation. It is noted that the incident could significantly affect political processes in Venezuela and the region’s international relations.
Recall that on the night of January 3, reports spread about several explosions in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. Some media wrote that aircraft flights were observed over the city and that power supply was cut in certain areas. The country’s authorities, in turn, accused the US of military aggression.
