-14°C: What does the red warning mean in Spain?

Heavy snowfall and a cold air surge in Spain almost paralyzed traffic flow. Traffic on 40 roads across the country has been temporarily suspended, and the movement of heavy trucks and buses has been restricted.

According to EFE, some sections of eight highways are still closed due to adverse weather conditions. Restrictions also remain on national roads around Leon and Astorga.

The most severe situation is observed in the province of Guadalajara (Castilla La Mancha): a "red" warning has been issued due to severe cold, and the minimum temperature is expected to drop to -14°C. Another five cities received a "yellow" warning due to snowfall in low-lying areas.
