Trump’s “Board of Peace” Initiative Divides the World

U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed a new initiative called the “Board of Peace” to resolve global conflicts. He invited about 60 countries to join this board. However, many countries are cautious about the initiative and are not rushing to publicly support it.
According to the plan, the board will first deal with the Gaza conflict, and later cover other conflicts in other regions. Donald Trump is set to be the chairman for life. In addition to three-year membership, countries that pay large sums will be given permanent membership.
So far, only Hungary has openly supported the initiative. Other countries are concerned that the role of the United Nations may weaken. Some diplomats say the new board could harm the work of the UN and increase disagreements in the international system.
The UN leadership said that countries have the right to choose different forms of cooperation. At the same time, the organization will continue to carry out its duties. Experts note that the UN remains an important and unique platform for global peace and security.
