Russian attack leaves Kyiv without power

According to Reuters, more than 60% of Kyiv remains without electricity as a result of Russian strikes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said this on the social media platform X.

The president said that about 4,000 buildings in Kyiv were without heating in the morning. The weather is cold, and many people are living with only a few hours of electricity or none at all.

Power supply has also been disrupted in the eastern Kharkiv region. Regional head Oleh Syniehubov said on Wednesday that 520,000 consumers were without electricity. This figure is lower than on Tuesday, but the region was attacked again.

In the southern Odesa region, DTEK said one facility was damaged, leaving several thousand households without power. Even where electricity has been restored, outages continue throughout the day. Mobile services have also been affected, with about 10% of the Kyivstar network not working.
