According to Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump said that the Hamas movement must make a clear decision in the coming weeks on handing over its weapons. He made the remarks at the World Economic Forum taking place in Davos, Switzerland.
Trump said that under the agreement, Hamas had agreed to give up its weapons and that this commitment must be fulfilled. He added that it would become clear within the next two or three days, and at most within three weeks.
The U.S. president said tough measures would be taken if this demand is not met. Trump openly warned that if Hamas does not hand over its weapons, strong military action would be carried out against it.
The statement was made during a question-and-answer session following Trump’s speech at the World Economic Forum. The forum is discussing the situation in the Middle East and global security issues.
