According to local police, the attacker was 18-year-old Jesse Van Rotselaar. According to officials, he changed his gender several years ago. It was also noted that he had mental health problems and that police had been called to his house before.
It has been reported that Jesse dropped out of school four years ago. According to preliminary information, he took the lives of his mother and brother in his home before the incident.
