Global warming is accelerating — is Earth facing a “hell climate”?

Scientist Christopher Wulff said in an interview with The Guardian that the highest temperature in the last 125 thousand years has been recorded on Earth. He emphasized that climate change is proceeding even faster than many scientists had previously predicted, and that global warming could lead to dangerous conditions on Earth resembling a “hell climate”.

Professor Tim Lenton of the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom also assessed this situation very seriously and said that even a rise of just a few degrees in temperature poses a major threat to humanity. According to him, Earth does not have to fully shift into a “greenhouse effect”, because even if global warming heats the planet by 3°C, severe consequences will arise for people and our societies.

Scientists’ forecasts note that an increase of around 3°C could disrupt the economy and society from functioning in their current form. At the same time, the article emphasizes that the “hothouse Earth” climate scenario could be “much more severe” than a simple rise of a few degrees.
