The generous people’s movement that changed the life of a 78-year-old courier

Brittany Smith, living in Manchester, Tennessee, USA, completely changed the daily life of an elderly couple. It all started with a food order through “DoorDash.” The 78-year-old Richard Palli was working as a courier, and his advanced age made carrying the order up the stairs very difficult, as shown on video. Miss Smith, seeing this, was moved by his difficult situation.

It turned out that Richard, despite being on a pension, had to work due to financial difficulties. His wife Brenda was unemployed, and there were not enough funds for daily expenses and medical treatments. Therefore, the couple decided to work in delivery: Brenda drove the car, and Richard delivered orders to clients’ doors.

Miss Smith wanted to give the courier a large tip, but it was not possible through the app. She then posted the video on social media and asked for help finding Richard. Soon, over 32 thousand people responded, and nearly 955 thousand dollars were raised.

“Even if we do not know them, it is hard to believe that people are ready to help. This is a true miracle,” said Brenda Palli. Richard almost could not sleep for several days due to the rapid fundraising.

“Now this money has freed us from a huge burden. Our life is back on track,” said Richard Palli.
